Why We Love It

Tanzania AA strikes a beautiful balance between brightness and depth. It carries the lively, citrus-driven energy East African coffees are known for, but with a rounded sweetness and refined structure that make it endlessly enjoyable. A classic origin with a polished, modern edge.

Processing & Origin

  • Region: Northern Tanzania (various high-altitude smallholder communities)
  • Grade: AA — the country’s highest classification for size and quality
  • Process: Fully washed with meticulous sorting and controlled fermentation
  • Altitude: High elevation, promoting dense cherries and refined acidity
  • Producers: Smallholder farmers dedicated to selective handpicking and quality processing

Tanzania AA — Premium High-Grown Lot

This exceptional AA-grade lot represents the highest screen size and quality classification in Tanzanian coffee. Grown on the rich volcanic slopes of northern Tanzania, the cherries benefit from cool high-altitude conditions, fertile soils, and long ripening cycles — all essential for producing dense, complex, high-scoring coffee.

Smallholder farmers deliver their harvest to local washing stations where the cherries undergo rigorous sorting, careful fermentation, and slow, even drying. The result is a clean yet vibrant East African profile, offering the structure and clarity Tanzania is renowned for.
